Samsung SyncMaster 740B 17-inch LCD Monitor -Black Review

I had a 17″ viewsonic CRT before i got this new monitor, and whoa is it a big difference. The text is much sharper, gaming is outstanding on this, and the freed up desk space is pretty nice too. The previous person who said that the picture was blurry had to have been using this at a non-native resolution, because at 1280×1024 it’s perfect. It’s a clean, professional looking monitor too, and looks far better than some of those other cheapo lcds which look like they were designed by someone who got fired from HP for a lack of creativity.

My only regret is not getting this at 19″ instead.

backlight issues – Dave92270 – CA, United States
I owned this monitor for some time until I was able to finally return it for refund. The unit had backlighting issues – darker blotches visible on dark background/blanked screen. It also suffered from heavier top and bottom backlight bleed, and generally bottom portion of the monitor was brighter then the top no matter the viewing angle. Also, my unit had small but visible gap on the top between the image edge and bezel edge, maybe 1/16″ but distracting. I though that I had poor unit but after reading numerous reviews I noticed that more Samsung owners report similar issues – so I think that these problems may be typical for Samsung “consumer type” models in all sizes. Probably not every unit has problems but the percentage of faulty ones appears to be higher – perhaps Samsung’s quality control is poor and bad units leave the factory? Now when I decided to get another LCD, instead of Samsung I bought NEC and I’m very happy with it. I’d suggest staying away from mid-range Samsung models.

LCD monitors must be at native resolution to be not “fuzzy” – A. Hall –
Reading the above review, I wonder if the reviewer has her resolution set to 1280×1024. That’s the native resolution of the LCD, and if it is set to something else, like 1024×768, it will look fuzzy. All LCD monitors do.

Poor quality, dead pixels – Grace from Boston –
Very poor quality. Text is often fuzzy and I get a headache from using it. It has lots of dead pixels, too. This monitor sucks. I should have gone for a Viewsonic for lower price. Don’t buy this or you’ll be wasting your money and doing harm to your eyes.

Samsung SyncMaster 943N 19-inch LCD Monitor Review

I heard a Samsung 740N for 5 years without any problems so I decided to try these 19 "943NW. It was worth from 17" to 19 "Yes. 943NW This looks good, the text is strong, no ghosting on games (Grand Prix Legends, Nolf 1 & 2), even less than native resolution – run this monitor at 1024 x 768 for Internet use with the monitor, about 4 feet away. If you want to see more vertically on one side, without squinting or wearing glasses to the text, one square meter to read the monitor is the best way to go. WatchingWidescreen video puts black bars top and bottom, but the picture is always bigger than a 21-inch wide-screen monitor would be, and they look good, not HD, but pretty good. And how often you see WAR videos on your computer if you have a TV?

Out of the box, the monitor too bright – 20% do not bother with the software, just remember Windows XP Pro to install the driver on the disk. The touch-sensitive buttons on the front are very good at, perhaps toosensitive to some, but easy to get used to it, and you must define one time. Screen tilt. but it is moving carefully to ensure that people do not believe that it is adjustable, but it is. Cool blue light

Overall, I recommend this monitor for the user that the value of sharp text plus side, vertically, instead of playing DVDs. I also use this monitor with 16.7 million colors, for Photoshop and have found no banding in gradients, like a cheaper LCD monitor. Until now I run every day,8 to 12 hours a day for a month without problems. He came with 1 stuck green pixel, visible only on a screen is completely black, so no big. Get an extra 3 months warranty from Samsung, if you register online on their website, within 30 days after purchase. Make sure that the date of manufacture can not be considered as part of the serial number or shape of your monitor.

The only thing that I was not happy was the fact that Amazon $ 15 off the price, three days after I bought it, and thatVAT paid. What do say that Amazon? Still a good buy, but would not have bought if they are able to provide for a full refund (as opposed to NewEgg, which only offer return exchange).

Good monitor for the money – LEADING EDGE –
I did not have a widescreen monitor, which will employ and widescreen too much space. I bought a Samsung monitor for my home, so I knew it was good. I like the base that comes with it – the monitor does not tilt forward and there is no way to adjust it. I have attached an adjustable arm of the monitor and clamp style (slightly) on the back of the monitor and on my desk. Great works.

The monitor is a good size for office work. Colors andThe texts are clear and sharp. No dead pixels. Menu management / control always get a little 'used – very sensitive.

All in all I think this is a good buy.

I had this monitor for over a year and a half of work. It all started well, had no real problem with him apart from the fact, when I'm working on a framework, contrast and brightness do not seem to match another monitor profile at all. The color of collaboration software also seems to conflict with the Adobe color profiles.

But a few days ago when I turned on my computer has been black (I have a second monitor as a secondary display, launched the fine). After a bit 'ofPlaying around with the ropes, pulling things a bit 'of times, suddenly came to life and it worked well the rest of the day. The next day was very similar, but today is not fiddling around 20 minutes which came to be activated. After I feel a bit 'online search to be a very common problem with Samsung LCD screens. I do not recommend buying this if you plan on using it for over a ten-year plan (or any type of design work seriously).
